DISCOVERY ISLAND ANIMAL PARK:  CROCODILES

Hi! I’m, Paul.  There are a lot of crocodiles here at Discovery  Island Animal Park.  This is Snapper.  She’s my favorite. Look at the bird in her mouth! It’s cleaning her teeth.

Crocodiles live in Africa and Australia. They live in rivers and near to salty water.  They are big and strong reptiles.  They like sleeping in the sun and swimming.  They can swim very well.  They can run but they can’t run fast.  Crocodiles have very big mouths with 65 teeth.  They eat meat and fish.  They can eat you too, watch out!

ZEBRAS:  SOCIAL ANIMALS

Zebras are very social animals.  They are part of the horse family, and are related to domestic horses.  They live in grasslands in some African countries such as Angola and Namibia. Zebras live in large groups of 100 or more.

Zebras are herbivores  which means they only eat grass, leaves and plants. They can run very fast. They also can see, hear and smell very well to help them scape from enemies like the lion.  Zebras have very long jaws which help them to have a lot of food in their mouths.  They have black and white stripes; however, each zebra has different stripes from others.
